PULSE OF THE WILD
A Queer Nature, Adventure & Embodiment Journey
Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico
February 3 - 8, 2027
THE INVITATION
There are places in the world where something ancient still breathes.
Where clothing becomes optional.
Where sunsets become ceremony.
Where strangers become family.
Where the ocean slowly washes away the identities you've outgrown.
Zipolite is one of those places.
For generations, this rugged stretch of Mexico's Pacific coastline has served as a refuge for wanderers, artists, seekers, lovers, mystics, and free spirits drawn by something they couldn't quite name.
Pulse of the Wild is an invitation into that current.
Part retreat.
Part pilgrimage.
Part chosen family gathering.
Many of us have spent years searching for belonging in dating apps, nightlife, achievement, spirituality, relationships, travel, or sex. Sometimes we find pieces of it. Rarely do we find all of it in one place.
Pulse of the Wild is an invitation to experience something increasingly rare: a temporary village of queer men gathering not around performance, status, or competition, but around authenticity, curiosity, friendship, and freedom.
Together we step away from performance, productivity, and expectation and into a slower rhythm guided by ocean tides, meaningful connection, embodied practice, nature immersion, and authentic belonging.
This is not about becoming someone new.
It's about remembering who you are beneath the noise.
The ocean is waiting.
The village is gathering.
Join us in Zipolite for six unforgettable days of connection, liberation, embodiment, chosen family, and coastal magic.
WHAT AWAITS
Imagine waking to the sound of waves.
Morning movement overlooking the Pacific.
Long conversations with remarkable humans.
Bare feet in warm sand.
Saltwater on sun-kissed skin.
Nourishing meals shared among friends.
Unexpected laughter.
Adventure to a secret beach.
Rest.
Play.
Ritual.
Wonder.
Moments of profound connection.
The kind that remind you life was never meant to be navigated alone.
The Experience
Some places seem to loosen the grip of who we've been told to be.
Zipolite is one of those places.
Set along Oaxaca's rugged Pacific coastline, Zipolite has quietly become one of the world's most beloved queer and clothing-optional destinations. People come here for the beaches, the sunsets, the freedom, and the feeling that life can move at a different pace.
Pulse of the Wild is an invitation to step into that current.
Part retreat, part pilgrimage, part chosen-family gathering, this experience brings together gay, bi, queer, and queer-curious men seeking deeper connection with themselves, one another, and the living world.
We'll spend six days immersed in the beauty and spirit of Zipolite. We'll greet the sunrise from our terrace overlooking the ocean. Wander barefoot along the beach. Even explore a secret beach. Share meals, stories, and laughter. Explore embodiment, sensuality, friendship, nature, and belonging. Watch the sun disappear into the Pacific from Playa del Amor. Dance before dinner. Rest when we need rest. Play when we need play.
There is no perfect way to be human.
There is no perfect way to be queer.
There is only the invitation to become more fully yourself.

WHO THIS IS FOR This retreat may be especially meaningful if you are: Seeking authentic queer community and belonging Craving more freedom in your relationship with your body Navigating a major life transition Interested in exploring intimacy, sensuality, and self-expression without shame Feeling disconnected from nature, play, or joy Longing for meaningful friendships with other queer men Curious about personal growth, embodiment, and conscious community No previous retreat experience is required. Only curiosity, openness, and a willingness to show up honestly.
WHY WE GATHER Many of us know how to find connection. A date. A dance floor. A retreat. A hookup. A festival. A chosen family dinner. But lasting belonging can be harder to find. Many queer men grow up learning how to adapt, perform, achieve, or protect themselves. We learn to shape-shift to survive. Sometimes we become so good at it that we lose touch with the parts of ourselves that long to simply relax and belong. Pulse of the Wild is an experiment in something different. For six days, we create a temporary village. A space where friendship matters as much as attraction. Where vulnerability matters as much as confidence. Where we can be playful, sensual, adventurous, reflective, awkward, brilliant, messy, and human. Together. No one arrives as the finished version of themselves. No one is expected to. The invitation is simply to show up honestly, participate fully, and discover what becomes possible when a group of queer men gather around curiosity instead of performance. Because the healing is rarely found in the workshop itself. It often arrives over breakfast. On a beach walk. In a shared laugh. In the moment you realize you no longer feel alone.

Frequently Asked Questions What level of nudity, sensuality, or sexual expression can I expect? Pulse of the Wild is a body-positive and sex-positive retreat. While conversations and workshops may explore attraction, intimacy, sensuality, desire, and connection, sexual activity is not facilitated as part of the retreat program. Participants are expected to engage one another with respect, consent, and personal responsibility. Is this a clothing-optional retreat? Yes. Zipolite is internationally known for its clothing-optional culture, and portions of the retreat may include optional naturist experiences. Participation is always a personal choice. Clothing is always welcome. Nudity is never required. Do I need previous retreat experience? No. Many participants attend their first retreat with us. Practices are designed with multiple levels of experience and comfort in mind. What airport should I fly into? Airport shuttle transportation will only be included from Huatulco Airport (HUX) during designated arrival and departure windows. However you may choose to fly into Puerto Escondido (PXM) and arrange your own transport. Is this a sexuality-focused retreat? Pulse of the Wild explores themes of embodiment, authenticity, intimacy, belonging, body liberation, and queer community. Conversations around attraction, desire, relationships, and sensuality may arise naturally, but this is not a sex-focused retreat and no sexual activity is facilitated. Who is this retreat for? Pulse of the Wild is designed primarily for gay, bi, queer, and queer-curious men seeking meaningful connection, personal growth, and community. Participants come from a wide range of backgrounds, professions, ages, body types, relationship styles, and life experiences. What makes this retreat different? Most retreats focus on either personal growth, adventure, spirituality, or community. Pulse brings these elements together within one of the world's most unique queer destinations. The result is less like a workshop and more like a temporary village: a group of people gathering to experience freedom, friendship, nature, embodiment, and belonging together.
A Note on Practice & Ceremony
Pulse of the Wild draws from a diverse range of transformational modalities, including embodiment practices, nature immersion, conscious community building, ritual, movement, meditation, relational exercises, and experiential learning.
This journey is an opportunity to step outside of ordinary life and reconnect with yourself through meaningful experiences, authentic relationships, and the unique spirit of Zipolite.
Practices are always invitational. Participants are encouraged to honor their own boundaries, needs, and pace throughout the journey.
A Note on Commitment
This journey asks something of you.
Your presence.
Your curiosity.
Your willingness to participate.
Not perfection.
Not performance.
The most meaningful moments often arise when we allow ourselves to be seen a little more honestly than usual, to step beyond familiar routines, and to engage fully with the people and experiences around us.
In return, Pulse offers something increasingly rare:
Time.
Community.
Connection.
A chance to remember what becomes possible when life slows down and we allow ourselves to belong.
Guide & Facilitator
Colter Wild
Colter Wild is a retreat facilitator, initiatory guide, and community weaver devoted to helping people reconnect with the parts of themselves they were taught to hide.
For more than two decades, his work has explored the intersection of nature, embodiment, spirituality, personal transformation, and queer community. Drawing from backgrounds in yoga, meditation, Reiki, energy work, psychedelic preparation and integration, somatic healing, ritual arts, and experiential education, he creates spaces that are both deeply meaningful and refreshingly human.
Mexico has become an important part of Colter's personal and professional journey. Since 2021, he has traveled extensively throughout the country and has guided multiple retreats and group experiences along the Oaxaca coast, including in Zipolite. His travels have taken him from bustling cultural centers and major cities to remote mountain villages, cloud forests, indigenous communities, and sacred natural landscapes throughout southern Mexico. These experiences have cultivated a deep respect for the region's people, traditions, ecosystems, and ways of relating to community, land, and ceremony.

Holding a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Utah, with studies in psychology, exercise physiology, nutrition, and wildlife conservation, Colter bridges scientific understanding with reverence for mystery, meaning, and the wisdom of lived experience. Known for blending playfulness with depth, his facilitation style emphasizes consent, nervous system awareness, authenticity, and genuine connection. Rather than positioning himself as an expert with all the answers, he creates environments where people feel safe enough to discover their own. At Pulse of the Wild, Colter brings together his love of nature, travel, queer community, ritual, and embodied living to create a temporary village where participants can experience greater freedom, belonging, and aliveness. Through shared meals, meaningful conversations, movement, exploration, and time in the beauty of Zipolite, participants are invited to reconnect with themselves, one another, and the wild pulse of life itself. His work is ultimately an invitation home: to the body, to authentic belonging, and to a life lived with greater freedom, intimacy, and presence.
A Threshold. A Belonging. A Call Into the Wild.
The ocean is waiting.
The village is gathering.
Join us in Zipolite for six unforgettable days of connection, liberation, embodiment, chosen family, and coastal magic.
